Art in the Park: July 2026
Join the Central Jersey Arts Council for Art in the Park, a free summer creative series bringing arts, crafts, and hands-on community activities to parks throughout Carteret. Designed for all ages, these outdoor programs encourage creativity, exploration, and community connection through fun and engaging projects.
Whether you’re creating a tie-dye masterpiece, designing a wind chime, crafting jewelry, or participating in a movie night art pairing, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Program Schedule
Most activities take place 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM, except:
- Friday Activities: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Civic Park
- Movie Night Art Pairings: 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM at designated movie night locations

August Schedule
What to Expect Each Week
Every week brings a new opportunity to create, explore, and have fun! Join us for free, hands-on art activities designed for children, families, and community members of all ages. All supplies are provided while supplies last.
Monday – Creative Crafts
Kick off the week with imaginative projects like cardboard ragdolls, paper fans, DIY lava lamps, and personalized name banners.
Tuesday – Jewelry & DIY Creations
Create wearable and functional art through bracelet making, tote bag decorating, mini clay creations, and other hands-on projects.
Wednesday – Movie Night Art Pairings
Enjoy a themed art activity inspired by the featured movie before the evening screening at our designated park location.
Thursday – Painting & Mixed Media
Explore painting, texture art, handmade photo frames, pipe cleaner creations, charms, and other creative mixed-media projects.
Friday – Featured Art Projects
Wrap up the week with exciting activities including DIY squishies, tie-dye, bubble wands, Minecraft-inspired crafts, and other interactive projects.

All activities are weather-dependent. Programs may be canceled due to extreme heat or severe storms.
